Temp/Seasonal WIC Educator – Temporary
Note: In general, this position is scheduled to work 30 hours per week and is a temporary position through 1/31/2019. This position requires English/Spanish proficiency
Delivers Women, Infant, and Children (WIC) program services to participants. The Women, Infant, and Children program is a federal program to provide healthy food supplements, nutrition education, and health care referrals to pregnant women and children up to the age of five. This includes determining and documenting eligibility, issuing electronic bank transfer (EBT) cards, maintaining participant program electronic records and paper files related to participant certification. The primary purpose of this position is interviewing clients and providing nutrition education with behavior change goals, and developing individual care plans based on a sound understanding of nutritional concepts. The WIC Educator is expected to work under minimal supervision and to exercise independent judgment and a high degree of initiative within established procedures. WIC Educator works under the supervision of the Nurse Supervisor.
