PT or FT Program Instructor/Apprentice
School Programs partners with public and private schools to bring science alive through investigations and research projects that incorporate innovative teaching methods and hands-on activities. We teach by academic theme, which means students will study earth science, forest ecology, aquatic ecology, weather and climate science, or snow science for the duration of their program. Instructors and Apprentices are the primary teachers for the school groups that visit KSS, and they are expected to plan lessons and facilitate programs, in addition to a wide variety of tasks outside of teaching. On a rotating basis, Instructors and Apprentices may be assigned to curriculum development, facilitation of meals, leading evening programs, and the completion of manual labor tasks.
