Temp/Seasonal POSITION: SUMMER COMMUNITY SERVICE TRIP LEADER

ABOUT US: VISIONS summer community service programs for high school and middle school students blend ambitious community service work, cultural immersion, travel, and adventure. Programs operate in under-resourced communities in Alaska and Montana indigenous villages, Dominican Republic, British Virgin Islands, Guadeloupe, Peru, Nicaragua, Ecuador/Galapagos Islands and Cambodia. Co-ed groups of 16 – 25 youth and 4 – 6 staff live and work together in the heart of a host community.
Staff, working in teams of 4-6 supervise and mentor teens during 2-4 week programs at one of the project sites listed above. Team members work to create a safe, fun and positive community that fosters growth and global understanding amongst program participants. Team members supervise students during daily activities including but not limited to service work in partnership with community organizations, recreational activities, and day to day chores such as cooking and cleaning. As a VISIONS team member, you will work hard, and the work at hand is focused on the participants’ experience above all else. VISIONS leaders commit to a work attitude that is cooperative, positive, safety-conscious, and community-spirited.
You must be at least 22 years old and have demonstrated interest in cross-cultural living and learning to apply.

Minimum Standard First Aid and CPR.
Additional safety certifications, experience leading and/or teaching teenagers, carpentry skills, photography skills, and experience living in different cultures are pluses in hiring process, though not required.
French fluency is required for Guadeloupe; Spanish fluency required for Dominican Republic, Peru, Ecuador, Nicaragua.
Background check (~ $20), paid for by applicant, will be required of all trip leaders immediately upon job offer. AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and other national service alumni are encouraged to apply.
SALARY/BENEFITS: Salary commensurate with similar employment opportunities and experience. Room, board, round trip travel to/from program sites provided. Transportation to staff training in Bozeman, MT, is at the applicant’s expense.
EMPLOYMENT DATES: Employment begins June 16th and varies in length from 6-10 weeks.
