Freelance Photography Work – Refuse Truck
I’m looking for a rather unique scenario. I have a brand new garbage truck in Denver that needs some professional photography. I’m making the 2017 Autocar Refuse Truck Calendar. I collaborate with photographers all over the country. You would be one of 12 that I work with. I need someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and knows how to deal with large metallic subjects.
For your truck I will find the right contact for you regarding scheduling and logistics and provide you with the must-have shot list, as well as the necessary paperwork. You will meet up with the driver at their depot and either follow along or ride with, staging shots as he works his route.
– All files high-res, unedited (just no TIFs, please, if you can avoid it – I will confirm with my editor her preference), editing to be done in-house by us
– All files also in a jpg, 1 meg max version
– Proof sheet of thumbnails for easy viewing of our collection
– Signed model release form from driver (to be provided to you upon our agreement to lock this in)
There’s a method to the Deliverables madness, so if something seems irrational or unreasonable (or if you think I’m really wrong about my aversion to TIFs, let me know and I’ll explain).
Regarding finances, we ask for a quote, create a purchase order, then ask to be billed upon completion, and deliver payment in NET 30 terms. This is generally not a problem for most photographers, so let me know if this works for you. We typically take 2-4 hours time to shoot and we pay about $500 for this.
