Part-Time GIS Analyst
Under limited direction, performs professional work related to the development and implementation of systems, databases and scripts to maintain, display, and upgrade the City’s Geographic Information System (GIS). The GIS Analyst uses the GIS to analyze spatial and tabular data and produce various electronic and hard-copy maps in support of the City’s operations. Assists with daily IT support operations, as needed.
Designs and maintains GIS databases; edits and creates new GIS data when needed; utilizes GPS for field data collection; develops the City’s geodatabase schema, models, scripts and workflows for GIS operations and data creation; responsible for GIS data model design and the development of GIS-related scripts and programs; installs, updates and maintains GIS software, hardware and plotters, printers and scanners, paper, ink cartridges and related supplies; evaluates the feasibility of new software and equipment for GIS operations; creates and updates complex electronic and hard-copy maps, map books and reports in support of City operations; prepares complex maps,
reports and data requests in support of internal and external operations; implements and manages the City’s mapping and database applications; and performs other IT related tasks, duties, and functions as assigned.
