Temp/Seasonal Gardening company in search of garden enthusiasts!
We are an established gardening company in search of garden enthusiasts! Gardening experience isn’t required; we can train anyone with an interest and will to learn. We work strictly outdoors caring for residential gardens and some of our typical day-to-day duties include weeding, pulling grass, raking, tilling, staking, deadheading, thinning, pruning, transplanting, planting, fertilizing and composting. This position is best suited for people who are happiest when working outdoors, staying busy, and enjoy working hard. This is not a good fit for people who prefer to take it easy. If interested, please read on to learn more about the position and our company!
WHO WE ARE
Raindrops on Roses is a Summit County-based, 15-year-old gardening company that specializes in the design, installation and maintenance of high altitude perennial gardens. We focus on serving residential clients in Summit County, in addition to a handful of clients in Eagle County.
WHAT WE STAND FOR AND WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US
The guiding principle at Raindrops on Roses is to treat others how we ourselves want to be treated. Our top 5 core values are honesty, integrity, humility, kindness and encouragement. We aim to convey those values each and every day to our employees, clients, sub-contractors, and vendors. We aren’t perfect, and we don’t pretend to be, but we promise to always do our best.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU
We set high standards for ourselves and the work we do. While gardening experience isn’t required, there are certain character traits we can’t train, which are inherently important to our day-to-day operations. We look for employees who are detail-oriented, good communicators, and who enjoy working on a team. Additionally, we want employees who take initiative, take accountability, and are willing to learn from their mistakes. We seek out these qualities in each other and the employees we hire.
We aim to deliver a great working environment for our team. We sincerely value our employees’ input and ideas. Additionally, we have an open door policy and are always willing to listen. We provide paid snack breaks, paid lunch breaks, and paid drive time. We know it’s important for our employees to have time off to enjoy summer trips and so time off requests, if communicated appropriately, are always approved (with some exceptions). We also never work late on Fridays and we never work on weekends!
Our gardening season starts in mid-May and ends the third week of October. We do request that employees stay until our closing day. However, there are a few exceptions we are happy to make – for students, employees with on-mountain jobs, and those with extended travel plans.
We work Monday through Friday. We don’t work weekends and have major holidays off. We work 8 – 10 hour days Monday through Thursday, with Fridays always being short or half days. We offer both part-time and full-time employment, and require first year employees to commit to a minimum of 3 days per week so that we have adequate time to provide proper training.
