SUMMARY
Maintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of the common areas and parking lot of the Center.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain all common areas of the center, including the public restrooms and parking lots, to the standards set by company for cleanliness and appearance (removing gum, stains, cigarette butts, paper and debris from ground).
Ensure cart if fully stocked at the beginning of shift
Support the maintenance staff as directed by the Operations Director.
Perform all duties according to OSHA established health and safety standards.
Assist customers as appropriate, always maintaining a positive friendly and helpful attitude.
Maintain a working knowledge of all safety procedures established for the Center.
Maintain a safe and clean work area in all custodial storage areas.
Insure complete working knowledge and familiarity of all Center Emergency Procedures.
Snow shoveling (if necessary at center location).
Perform special projects or other duties as assigned.

NOTE: If the Center has a Food Court, additional duties may include the following:

Maintain the cleanliness of the food court.
Sanitizing all tables and chairs, maintain the proper placement of all tables and chairs, both food court interior and food court exterior.
Collects dirty food trays, sanitizing them in the tray washing room and re-distributing them to the food court restaurants.
Maintain the proper placement of food court table top advertisements.
Assist customers with questions or requests
Ensures food court area is clean, empty trash, wash windows, doors, clean floors and cleans spills.
Perform special projects or other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (G.E.D.)
No experience necessary.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to comprehend instruction.
Ability to effectively respond to issues both verbally and in writing.
Requires a high level of commitment to customer service.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to identify problems and then recommend a resolution.
Ability to interpret instructions furnished in writing or verbal.

OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES
Demonstrate ability to work well under pressure.
Must be able to work independently and take initiative.
Requires attention to detail.

PHYSICAL and/or MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must possess strength, stamina and mobility by walking to perform physical work out of doors in all weather conditions and with exposure to potentially hazardous conditions, use of hands and fingers to pick up trash and clean common areas, ability to push and pull custodial cart, weighing approx. 25-30 pounds, throughout the center, prolonged standing and repetitive bending/lifting/stooping/twisting to pick up trash and clean common areas, move materials weighing up to 30 pounds and heavier weights with the use of proper equipment; vision to read printed materials; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone and/or radio.

Must be able to work emergency overtime as required. Must be willing to work out of doors in all weather conditions with exposure to potentially hazardous conditions and potentially loud to moderate noise levels.
