Greenhouse Gas Inventory Internship, Part-time, Colorado Mountain College, Central Services

Under the supervision of the Director of Facilities, Director of Purchasing and a faculty member, the Green House Inventory Intern will collect and verify all necessary data as listed on the ACUPCC Greenhouse Gas Inventory Data Requirements document. This position will overview-Help save the world while getting paid to learn and practice a marketable skill – measuring greenhouse gas emissions. Following the American College and University Presidents’ Climate Commitment (ACUPCC) requirements for tracking and inventorying greenhouse gas emissions.

This position will assist Colorado Mountain College in collecting all necessary data from 2017 and establishing standard reporting protocols for future years. Your work will contribute to the implementation of CMC’s Sustainability Action Plan.

This position is approved for 20 hours/week from August 20, 2018-March 31, 2019.

Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards):

Education and experience sufficient to meet the rigors of the position, must be an active student in the in the Roaring Fork Valley pursuing a B.A. in Sustainability Studies.

Knowledge of: variety of standard administrative and business methods and procedures; standard Microsoft Office software. Eagerness and ability to work with quantitative data. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Interpersonal communication skills, as you will be asking busy people for their assistance. Willingness to travel between CMC sites on occasion

Ability to: read, write, speak, and understand English well; operate variety of office equipment; proficient in computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets and electronic mail; multi-task; meet deadlines; strong verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to working in a culturally competent environment and the ability to effectively work with students, employees, and community members having diverse backgrounds.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities are preferred.
